Rally in the Valley: March 18, 2007
The annual “Rally in the Valley for Peace and Justice: Bring the Troops Home Now!” was a great success in terms of a huge turnout (approximately 1200), great music from the Raging Grannies, Jemmy Bluestein, and Green Machine, inspirational talks from David Swanson and Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey, a march with so many people that it seemed like it would never end, and a die-in that captivated the media. It was disappointing that the weather left Dolores Huerta stuck at the airport in Chicago; but she sent Pablo Rodriguez to fill in for her and he did an admirable job.
The real test, of course, is whether it helps stop the War. Keep telling your Congressmen and Senators to stop the war now.
