Peace Fresno will sponsor a demonstration in front of the new Federal Building at 2500 Tulare Street in downtown Fresno. This demonstration will protest the loss of civil liberties tied to Guantanamo Bay, use of torture, illegal wiretapping, Patriot Act and the Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act. Come join us as we tell Fresno that civil liberty is more important than security. For more information contact Scott at president@peacefresno.org or (559) 487-2515.

Peace Fresno will join many others in the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March. The march starts at St. John’s Cathedral, 2841 Mariposa Ave in downtown Fresno. Come share in this annual call for peace and justice. For more information, contact James Lett III at (559) 284-6420.
Monday, February 18
Peace Fresno and other community groups will sponsor the “President for Peace and Justice” march. This event will take place on President’s Day and call presidential candidates to work for peace and justice. Save the date! More details to follow.

23rd Annual Martin Luther King, Jr Celebration. “Living the Dream: Let Freedom Ring for a New Day and a New Way”. There are many events beginning with the Garlanding Ceremony at noon on January 18 at the Fresno County Courthouse and concluding with the annual march on January 21 at 9:30 am starting at St. John’s Cathedral. Fashion Fair Mall: Peace Fresno has begun to table at Fashion Fair Mall. We hope to table once/month but need to negotiate dates with the mall administration. We are required to submit a list of names of participants. So, if you are interested in volunteering, please contact Dan Yaseen at 251-3361 or danyaseen@comcast.net
Counter Recruitment: Peace Fresno is a member of the Central Valley Counter Recruitment Coalition which visits Fresno high schools to distribute literature and talk with kids about alternatives to military service.
