Peace Corner will hold a press conference to
denounce recent Congressional action and call on the people of the Central Valley to contact their representatives and senators to demand an end to the war. Come
join us. The press conference will take place at the Fresno Center
for Nonviolence at 1584 N. Van Ness in Fresno.
Tuesday, January 1
Peace
Fresno meeting will be canceled due to the holiday. Our next meeting is
January 8, 2008.
Friday, January 4, 4:30 - 6:30 PM
Peace Corner on the first Friday of every month. Come join us as we tell
motorists to call Congress to stop war funding and not to authorize an attack
on Iran.

Tuesday, January 8, 7 PM
Peace Fresno business meeting. Come join us. We will be working on plans
for the Civil Liberties action, future Fashion Fair action and discussing
possible actions in the new year. We meet at the Fresno Center for
Nonviolence at 1584 N. Van Ness in Fresno.
Friday, January 11, 11:15 - 1:00 PM
Peace Fresno will sponsor a demonstration in front of the new Federal Building
at 2500 Tulare Street in downtown Fresno. This demonstration
will protest the loss of civil liberties tied to Guantanamo Bay, use of
torture, illegal wiretapping, Patriot Act and the Homegrown Terrorism
Prevention Act. Come join us as we tell Fresno that civil liberty is more

Peace
Fresno non-business meeting. Come join us. We will be working on plans
for the Rally in the Valley. We meet at the Fresno Center for
Nonviolence at 1584 N. Van Ness in Fresno.
Monday, January 21, 9:30 AM
Peace Fresno will join many others in the annual
Martin
Luther King, Jr. March. The march starts at St. John’s Cathedral,
2841 Mariposa Ave in downtown Fresno. Come share in this annual call for peace

Monday, February 18
Peace Fresno and other community groups will
sponsor the “President for Peace and Justice” march. This event will
take place on President’s Day and call presidential candidates to work for
peace and justice. Save the date! More details to follow.

23rd Annual Martin Luther King, Jr Celebration. “Living the Dream: Let Freedom Ring for a New Day
and a New Way”. There are many events beginning with the
Garlanding Ceremony at noon on January 18 at the Fresno County Courthouse
and concluding with the annual march on January 21 at 9:30
am starting at St. John’s Cathedral. For more information, contact

Fashion Fair Mall: Peace Fresno has begun
to table at Fashion Fair Mall. We hope to table once/month but need to
negotiate dates with the mall administration. We are required to submit a list
of names of participants. So, if you are interested in volunteering, please

Counter Recruitment: Peace Fresno is a
member of the Central Valley Counter Recruitment
Coalition which visits Fresno high schools to distribute literature and talk
with kids about alternatives to military service. We always need more
