Partners in Peace and Justice:

THANK YOU!   We had 150 or more people march with us on Presidents’ Day. Although the march was long (2 miles), there was much enthusiasm as we sang and chanted to the new Federal Building. Gloria Hernandez, Vincent Lavery and myself spoke briefly. We sang about peace and the end of war. Food Not Bombs provided refreshments. And there was good media coverage. The best coverage came from Mike Rhodes and you can see his coverage on www.indybay.org. But, there was good coverage from the corporate media, especially Channel 24, starting with an interview at 6:00 AM (it is on their website, www.ksee24.com under sunrise).

As I said yesterday, we need to continue today by contacting our members of Congress (representatives and senators) to tell them to STOP FUNDING THE WAR. There will be another vote soon. We need to tell them to RESTORE THE BILL OF RIGHTS by repealing the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act, and tell your senators to oppose the Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act (which could make thought a crime). We need to tell them to fund affordable housing, healthcare for all, better schools and much more.

Yesterday, our voices rang out in downtown Fresno but we need to continue to speak out before it’s too late.

Remember that the Rally in the Valley for Peace and Justice . . . NOW! is coming. We will gather at Eaton Plaza in downtown Fresno on March 15 between 1-4 pm (tables will be set up by 12:30 with music). If you want to cosponsor or support the Rally, contact Dan Yaseen at danyaseen@comcast.net or me at president@peacefresno.org (or leave a message at 487-2515).

Peace,

Scott Key
