Trump’s Afghanistan Speech Offers No End in Sight for the War

“We will learn from history,” Trump said as he announced his plan in August for the war in Afghanistan. His strategy? More troops, no set timeline, and less transparency — a perfect storm for a permanent war, Phyllis Bennis, of Institute for Policy Studies, said, “Well, maybe Trump stared at the eclipse for too long, but the history books we read show us that there is no military solution for America’s longest war.”

Faith in the Valley Watch, a new online platform to broaden our Rapid Response efforts in support of threatened immigrants. We will have a coordinated strategy, increase the number of dispatchers and start an online location-based system to alert responders! Rapid Response network to step in and directly support vulnerable families in times of crisis. Because we know ICE operates very quickly throughout the Valley, we are ramping up our efforts to reach a broader area and have a bigger impact! For all who have been involved in the past and for those who would like to learn more, please join us!

Dan Yaseen interviewed Ray McGovern, a veteran CIA officer turned political activist.Ray grew up in Bronx, in the early Sixties he served as an Army infantry/intelligence officer and then he was a CIA analyst for 27 years, from the administration of John F. Kennedy to that of George H. W. Bush. Ray’s duties included chairing National Intelligence Estimates and preparing the President’s Daily Brief. In January 2003, Ray co-created Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) to expose how intelligence was being falsified to “justify” war on Iraq.
